Detailed Item Information

With this fine update to the Pro Staff 95 BLX, Wilson serves up a speedy racquet with that magical Pro Staff blend of control and feel. With its 'whippy' headlight balance and very manageable swingweight (308 RDC), the Pro Staff 95 offers explosive acceleration and easy access to spin. It also provides surgical targeting thanks to the unmistakeable blend of feel and precision that comes from its compact 95 square inch head and thin beam. In short, this is one of those racquets where the ball leaves the stringbed with no surprises. Wilson's time tested graphite/Kevlar layup combines with the Amplifeel handle inserts to keep harsher vibrations to a minimum. At net this one is quick enough for either crushing floaters or reacting to fast heaters. The controlled response from the baseline is doubly apparent on serves where the precision and feel make for some very accurate targeting. All in all, this is a great option for intermediate and advanced players who need a light, fast swinging racquet with easy access to spin along with a very precise feel. Advanced players looking for more stability and power will appreciate the ready-made measurement platform at 3 and 9 o'clock. With a little weight, this one would be perfect for the heaviest exchanges.

This an an Ultimate Control Racquet, which, are characterized by a small head, heavy weight, thin beam, head light (or even) balance, and frames that are not too stiff. Ultimate control racquets are recommended for advanced players with full strokes, or powerful athletic intermediates who are likely to take a big swing at the ball. These players generate their own power so its the control that the thin beamed, heavy rackets provide. For advanced  or potentially good juniors of adult height, these rackets encourage the development of full flowing strokes and good technique. The slightly lighter ones in this category are probably best for juniors.
